Welcome to the website of Diagilev Duo.
The Diagilev Duo was founded in 2005 by Katja Dirven-Didychenko (cello) and Arina Aartsen (piano) after many years of cooperation. They met at the conservatory in Kiev (Ukraine).
The duo was named after the Russian art promotor Sergei Diagilev. He was an ambassador for new art in Europe at the beginning of the twentieth century.
The repertoire of the duo is characterized by the combination of golden classics (both original as adaptations), and rarely performed pieces with a preferance for Russian composers.
Their main motivation is to introduce interesting, but not well known music to the audience.
Diagilev Duo gives many concerts in the Netherlands and abroad. In addition, the duo performed in the radio program 'Spiegelzaal', which was broadcast live from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and they were invited to the TV program "Vrije Geluiden".
